| My pictures can be both, figurative or abstract. I sometimes start with an image in mind or work from a photography taken previously to capture an interesting situation, light and shadow or detail. But I feel most for paintings that grow from abstract beginnings into a figurative picture with abstract elements: once chance and subconscious influences are incorporated, I can then work on figures and perspective, for which I care a lot. In this mixture of planning and the unexpected a painting may develop into something more meaningful, with an underlying psychological dimension to it.
I also work as an illustrator for a variety of themes and am always open to commissions. |
